Applied Human Change is particularly suited to personal-change goals where there is a gap between:
what you consciously want
and
what you repeatedly find yourself doing or experiencing.
You may understand the pattern.
You may know what you would prefer to do instead.
You may even have tried repeatedly to change it.
And yet, when the familiar situation occurs, the familiar response returns.
Rather than simply discussing the pattern, we use the session to actively work with aspects
of the internal experience associated with it.
You decide you're going to stop.
Then the craving arrives.
Or you're tired, stressed, bored or emotional - and suddenly the decision you made earlier doesn't seem to matter.
You may already know what you would prefer to eat.
You may understand the consequences.
You may have made the decision many times.
And yet the behaviour continues.
Applied Human Change isn't a diet or nutrition program.
Instead, we can work with aspects of the internal experience associated with recurring sugar habits, cravings, emotional eating patterns and other food-related behaviours you want to change.
The focus is not simply on knowing what you should do. It's on working with what happens when the pattern actually begins.
Sometimes the problem isn't a lack of insight.
It's that your attention keeps returning to the same thing.
Replaying.
Anticipating.
Reviewing.
Imagining.
Going over something again.
You may already recognise that the thinking isn't getting you anywhere - and still find yourself pulled back into it.
Applied Human Change allows us to actively work with aspects of the internal experience involved in these repetitive patterns.
The objective isn't to force your mind to become blank.
It's to develop greater flexibility in how you respond when the familiar loop begins.
You know what you want.
You may even have a plan.
Yet something repeatedly happens between intention and action.
You procrastinate.
Avoid.
Stop.
Return to an old habit.
Or you make progress and then find yourself doing exactly what you said you weren't going to do.
This is the frustrating gap between knowing what you want to do and repeatedly doing something else.
Rather than simply talking about why this keeps happening, Human Change allows us to actively work with aspects of the pattern itself and practise different ways of responding.
The aim is to make change something you participate in, rather than another decision you keep having to make.
Personalised sessions may also be suitable for personal-development goals involving:
Confidence & self-worth
Procrastination
Recurring habits
Performance blocks
Recurring emotional responses
Behavioural patterns
Personal boundaries
Fear-related patterns
Stress-related patterns
Unwanted associations
Building and rehearsing new responses
The important question isn't whether your experience fits neatly into a particular label.
It's whether there is a pattern in the way you experience, respond or behave that you want to work on differently.
You don't need to decide which type of Human Change work you need.
If there is a specific pattern you want to change but you're unsure whether it is appropriate for
Applied Human Change, you're welcome to contact me before booking.
If you're ready to work on a specific recurring pattern, you can book your personalised session.
Your individual Human Change process will be designed from the information you provide in your pre-session questionnaire.
